Historical NoteThe Student Amateur Radio Society (also known at various times as the Amateur Radio Club and the Amateur Radio Society) was first established at NC State in 1930 or 1931. The club was licensed under the callsign W4ATC, which it was still using in 2008. The Student Amateur Radio Society has operated out of many different locations around campus during its nearly 80 years of existence, actively exchanging greetings with other amateur radio operators from around the world.
