The records include flyers, pamphlets, announcements, and memoranda that document the activities of the center and its programs from 1965 to 2008. Included in this collection is a handbook from 1965 to serve as a guide for incoming female students. These suggestions include appropriate attire for specific situations, proper etiquette, and locations of campus dining services, among other topics. Historical InformationThe North Carolina State University Women's Center was founded in 1991 in order to provide services to the women students, faculty and staff on campus. The Center's mission is to celebrate women through support, empowerment, education, and leadership development and to challenge and motivate both women and men to achieve inclusivity and gender equity.
