In January 1974, the professional staff of the university's library formed an organization called the D.H. Hill Librarians. In 1984 the name changed to the North Carolina State University Librarians' Association (NCSULA).

In January 1974, the professional staff of the university's library formed an organization called the D.H. Hill Librarians. In 1984 the name changed to the North Carolina State University Librarians' Association (NCSULA). The purpose of the association is to promote the professional interests of its members inside as well as outside the NCSU Libraries, and to provide an open forum for the exchange of information about librarians, libraries, and librarianship.
