Historical Note

The Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor is the chief academic officer under the Chancellor and is responsible for review and approval of all academic programs and policies, as well as the appointment, promotion, and compensation of the faculty. The position first existed as the Dean of the Faculty beginning in November 1955. In 1967, the title was changed to Provost, and in 1971 to Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

Scope and Content Note

This sub-group contains typed annual reports in binders and folders. Included are reports from schools and colleges, as well as university divisions and committees.

Annual Reports, , 1980-2003 Mainly contains annual reports from the Merit Awards and Special Scholarships Program., 1980 - 2001. Also included are reports for the Encore Center for Lifelong Enrichment, 2001 - 2003; and the First Year College, 1996-1997.	[UA 005.002 Half Box 2]
