The Technician, and acid-free paper printing. The collection includes memos, letters, meeting minutes and agendas, handwritten
notes, supplemental information, pamphlets and other miscellaneous materials including a list from 1968 of stolen and missing
materials.

The Dean's Office records of the North Carolina State University College of Humanities and Social Sciences contain annual
reports, correspondence, course curriculum information, enrollment files, faculty recruitment information, memoranda, minutes,
news clippings, newsletters, publications, self-study reports, and student recruitment information. The records document the
academic and administrative activities of the office of the Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and its
predecessor organizations of North Carolina State University from 1924 to 1998, as well as material pertaining to the American
Society for Engineering Education, the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, international programs, intramurals, long
range planning, social studies, and the Summer Institute of English for Speakers of other languages.

The Roy Edwin Smith calendar and photographs contains a 1920 calendar containing pictures of the North Carolina State College
of Agriculture and Engineering (now North Carolina State University) campus. Also included are eleven photographs of the campus,
including scenes of the 1911 dormitory, Holladay Hall, the textile tower, Leazar Hall, Lover's Lane, and intermission activities
at a football game against Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

This collection chiefly documents Ralph Clay Swann's work as Technical Director at the Redstone Arsenal Ordnance Missile Laboratories
in Huntsville, Alabama, where he was responsible for the planning and execution of rocket propulsion research and solid propulsion
development. Contained in the files are news clippings, photographs, certificates, citations, lectures and speeches given
by Swann. A few items relate to Swann's education, to his work in private industry, or to his work at North Carolina State
College of Agriculture and Engineering (later North Carolina State University).
