Title:   Draper Corporation Loom Catalogs, 1932 - 1949

Abstract: Seven loom catalogs, 1932 - 1949, and a volume of labelled photographs of sections of looms, from the Draper Corporation for the Textile School at North Carolina State College (now North Carolina State University), Raleigh, N.C. The catalogs each contain a copy of a loom order, followed by a detailed list of parts and labelled photographs of portions of the looms. The orders are dated 1937 Jan. 15 - 1949 Oct. 31.

Title:   Arthur Wullschleger Notebook, 1898-1902

Abstract: Large volume containing handwritten notes on courses in weaving, as well as hand-drawn diagrams of textile machinery and weaving patterns. Fabric samples accompany some weaving patterns. On the cover is written Arthur Wullschleger 1902. At head of title page is written, Ecole Societé d'Enseignement Professionel du Rhône. Then three titles are given: Cours Théorie de Tissage, Cours de Tissage pratique, and Cours de Garage de Mr. Loir. At the end of the title page is written Arthur Wullschleger, d'Aarbourg, Suisse, Lyon, 1898-1902.

Abstract: This records subgroup contains correspondence among North Carolina State University College of Textiles faculty, staff, and administrators and other files relating to the operations of the school; budget material, and Textile Extension correspondence. Documentation in the academic series includes information regarding Textiles College and extension projects and research, and Textiles College brochures and catalogs. Budget material includes monthly and year-to-date budget and expenditure reports of the College, the North Carolina Textiles Foundation, as well as other personnel and financial aid paperwork. The Textiles Extension correspondence series consists of correspondence to and from textile industry representatives regarding applied research requests and information on instructional services provided by the College of Textiles. This subgroup was formerly numbered UA 130.5.

Title:   John Rea Morrison Papers, 1921-1924

Abstract: The collection consists of notebooks and textbooks of Morrison's when he was a student in the North Carolina State College School of Textiles, 1921-1924. All three notebooks are entirely handwritten, approximately 30 pages each, covering textiles design and manufacturing, and carding and spinning topics.

Title:   Walter Clyburn Taylor Papers, 1911 - 1912

Abstract: The Walter Clyburn Taylor Papers consists of papers relating to textiles and their manufacture. These papers represent Taylor’s work for both his sophomore course on carding and spinning and for courses taken during his junior year at the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later North Carolina State University). Included are handwritten and typewritten essays on a variety of subjects. Also present are tables of mechanical settings and several technical drawings for machinery, as well as articles clipped from technical journals and affixed onto pages of the notebook. All the materials in the notebook date from between 1911 and 1912.

Abstract: The collection of College of Textiles photographs depict the school's people, activities, and facilities from its early days in Tompkins Hall to a few recent photographs from Centennial Campus. Many photographs of equipment and machinery are included, as well as laboratories and other facilities. A portion of the collection also features students of the college and their academic activities, including class portraits and Style Shows.
