Abstract: The Harry Sweetbaum silk industry photographs, circa 1930-1941, consist of photographs of a silk plant in China, pictures of the silk making process, Japanese postcards of the Nishimura Filature, and photographs and a booklet from the AAA Silk Laboratory in New York City. Images are of workers, machinery, and some photographs of silkworms.

Title:   John Rea Morrison Papers, 1921-1924

Abstract: The collection consists of notebooks and textbooks of Morrison's when he was a student in the North Carolina State College School of Textiles, 1921-1924. All three notebooks are entirely handwritten, approximately 30 pages each, covering textiles design and manufacturing, and carding and spinning topics.

Title:   Walter Clyburn Taylor Papers, 1911 - 1912

Abstract: The Walter Clyburn Taylor Papers consists of papers relating to textiles and their manufacture. These papers represent Taylor’s work for both his sophomore course on carding and spinning and for courses taken during his junior year at the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later North Carolina State University). Included are handwritten and typewritten essays on a variety of subjects. Also present are tables of mechanical settings and several technical drawings for machinery, as well as articles clipped from technical journals and affixed onto pages of the notebook. All the materials in the notebook date from between 1911 and 1912.
