Abstract: The Culture and Animals Foundation Records contains historical and financial records, correspondence, programs, grant applications, and artistic portfolios dating from 1985 to the present. The Culture and Animals Foundation (CAF) is a nonprofit, cultural organization committed to fostering the growth of intellectual and artistic endeavors united by a positive concern for animals. Founded in 1985 by Nancy and Tom Regan, the CAF exists to expand understanding and appreciation of animals--improving the ways in which they are treated and their standing in human society.

Title:   Lisa Finlay Papers, 1987-1996?

Abstract: The Lisa Finlay Papers contains materials documenting Finlay's interest and participation in both the animal rights and ecofeminist movements. Some items are related to general animal rights or philosophical issues, but the majority focus on ecofeminism or the intersection between feminism and animal rights. Included are a variety of published and unpublished written materials, as well as materials from various animal rights and ecofeminist groups and events and audiovisual materials. The bulk of these audiovisual materials are the only known video copies of the 1993 ANGFAR (A New Generation for Animal Rights) Conference.

Abstract: The Tom Regan Papers contains correspondence, research files, drafts, reprints, and audio-visual materials that span the professional career of one of the most widely-known authorities on animal rights. The collection relates chiefly to the two major intellectual pursuits of Tom Regan's career, animal rights and the moral philosophy of G. E. Moore, although there is a limited amount of personal material and unrelated subjects. Also included are files related to his thirty years of service to North Carolina State University.

Abstract: The Argus Archives Records, 1914-2004 (bulk 1970-1990), contain brochures, catalogs, correspondence, legislation, magazines, memorabilia, monographs, news clippings, pamphlets, photographs, research reports, video, and other materials collected and preserved by Argus Archives in pursuit of its goal to be an information source in humane education and to stop unnecessary or particularly cruel forms of animal testing. With particular focus on collecting material relating to humane organizations in the State of New York, Argus Archives actively assembled information on all areas of interest to the humane movement. The collection expanded to include organizations in all of North America and parts of Europe and Asia. Biographical documents of Dallas Pratt and other material such as article reprints date back to 1914.

Abstract: The records of the Office of the Dean in the College of Design include correspondence, minutes, reports relating to the administration of the College and the American Institute of Architects (AIA), courses and curricula materials, accreditation, the North Carolina Design Foundation Inc., lectures, programs, landscape architecture accreditation, the American Society of Landscape Architects accreditation, and the National Architecture Accrediting Board. The records also contain committee minutes, including the Executive Committee and the Course and Curricula Committee, which includes material on undergraduate and graduate courses. Materials collected and used by Bob Burns while writing a history of the College of Design are also present.
