Title:   Oliver Max Gardner Papers, 1932 - 1945

Abstract: Oliver Max Gardner (1882-1947), an alumnus of North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later North Carolina State University), served as governor of North Carolina and chair of the Advisory Board of the U.S. Office of War Mobilization and Reconversion. The Oliver Max Gardner Papers consists of four items related to Gardner's governorship and chairmanship of the above-mentioned Advisory Board. Two of the items are letters to or from President Franklin D. Roosevelt, and one item is a letter from the Secretary to the President Jonathan Daniels.

Abstract: The Josephine Scott Hudson Papers include research papers, correspondence, journals, photographs, postcards, news clippings, and ephemera. The bulk of the material contained in this collection relates to Cassius Rex Hudson's career with the North Carolina Agricultural Extension Service and to the career of W. Kerr Scott, former governor of North Carolina. There is also material relating to Hudson's nephew, former North Carolina Governor Robert W. Scott.
