Scope and Content Note

The Herbert Emerson Atkinson photographs and correspondence consists of letters, memorabilia, and color photographs relating to the fiftieth anniversary reunion of the 1929 North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (now North Carolina State University) basketball team, 1979 December.

Biographical Note

Herbert Emerson "Skeet" Atkinson (1908 - 1995) was a member of the 1929 North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering basketball team, which won the Southern Conference Championship. He graduated from N.C. State in 1933, and played a large role in organizing the team's 1979 reunion.
