            <abstract id="ref2" label="Abstract">This book contains 40 typed pages related to agricultural economics and agricultural production. The first 19 pages consist of 18 lecture outlines on such topics as the fundamental principles of organization, the economic characteristics of agricultural production, and the wages of agricultural labor. The next three pages discuss the theory of the least cost combination. The final 28 pages consist of an essay entitled 
                <title ns2:type="simple" ns2:href="" render="doublequote">Production in Agriculture.</title></abstract>
            <abstract id="ref3" label="Abstract">G. W. (Garnet Wolsey) Forster (1887 - 1961) founded the Department of Agricultural Economics at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (later North Carolina State University) in 1923 and served as its head until 1950. He earned his bachelor's degree from Cornell University in 1914, his master's degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1917, and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1923. Before coming to N.C. State, Forster was a professor of Agriculture and Economics at the University of Kentucky from 1919 to 1920, assistant chief of Farm Management and Farm Economics, United States Department of Agriculture from 1920 until 1921, and acting chief of the same department from 1922 to 1923. In 1957, he received the "Distinguished Fellow" award from the American Farm Economics Association for being one of the ten outstanding farm economists in the United States.</abstract>
