Wallace Carl Riddick (1862-1942) served as President of North Carolina State College from 1916 to 1923. In 1920, he admitted two Serbian students to the College, which led to his being awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of St. Sava by King Alexander of Yugoslavia in 1931. The Wallace Carl Riddick Papers contain newspaper clippings, correspondence, and other materials related to the students, as well as the text of a speech given by Riddick in 1913.
The Wallace Carl Riddick Papers mainly consist of materials related to two Serbian students who were granted admission to North Carolina State College in 1920. Because of his advocation on the students' behalf, Riddick was awarded with the Officer's Cross of the Order of St. Sava by King Alexander of Yugoslavia in 1931. Newspaper clippings, correspondence, and other materials related to the students and the Officer's Cross are in the collection. Also included is the text of a speech given by Riddick in 1913.
