Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Why are the Hillsborough Street doors closed?
The Hillsborough Street doors to the Erdahl-Cloyd (West) Wing of the D. H. Hill Library were closed in 1990 upon the recommendation of the faculty and student members of the University Library Committee, with the support of Public Safety, and with the endorsement of the Faculty Senate and the Office of the Provost. Security of staff and materials is a major reason for this. These doors are now used only for special access by persons with disabilities.
