Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) |

Why is there sometimes a difference between the citation count of an article in the Web of Science search results compared to the citations I can access?
The NCSU Libraries subscribes to a subset of the databases that contribute to the overall count of citations as reported by the Web of Science. Therefore, while the Web of Science database counts citations from all years (from 1900 to the present) and all citation indexes in Web of Science, it is possible that the list of citing works available to review will be limited by the particular indexes included in the NCSU Libraries' subscription. In other words, the list of articles and/or books that cite a publication ("citing articles") in our subscription to Web of Science may not include the full scope of possible citing publications from the full Web of Science set of products.
