Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What if Second Life will not run, or crashes, on library computers?

If Second Life will not open because it requires a software update, please notify library staff. (Staff information.)

Known issues:

All users: Second Life may generate very large cache files and take up your allotted disk quota. These files are saved in your profile and can be removed if necessary (you will lose any locally saved Second Life information). They may be found in the K:\Library\Application Support\SecondLife\cache or M:\Settings\SecondLife\cache directories.

Mac users: The software may crash or run slowly. If you cannot log in after a crash, go to the Macintosh HD::[username]::Library::Application Support folder and delete the Second Life folder, then try to launch Second Life again.
