What does L.C. Subject mean?

When searching the NCSU Libraries catalog, one of the search options is searching by L.C. Subject. Library of Congress Subject Headings are assigned to library materials by catalogers. For example, books with title words like film, movies, or cinema would be put together under the subject heading motion pictures.

If you don't know the correct subject heading, try a keyword search first, and look for relevant books. Then, glance at the highlighted subject headings. If you see one you like, click on it, and you will be doing an L.C. Subject Search.
