Join us for the first event of the Wolfpack Citizen Science Challenge — Where's Delftia?
We are surrounded by dynamic microscopic communities harboring microbes with unique abilities… yet we are just starting to realize the potential these microbes have! We looked at the microbes in kitchen sink drains and found a fascinating organism, Delftia acidovorans. This is one of countless understudied microbes with intriguing histories and features. Join us to learn about the intriguing story of Delftia in kitchen sinks and the tools we have to study this and other fascinating organisms.
After the event interested volunteers can join us next door in the Creativity Studios to participate in live, hands-on DNA extraction demonstrations, as well as register as volunteers to collect samples from around campus.
