About This Event

Music Making with GarageBand Activity Description: Many of us carry recording studios with us all the time. In our pockets and bags, backpacks and bookbags we have phones and tablets that are very powerful and easy-to-use music making tools. Together, kids and adults will make music using one of these mobile making stations. We’ll use loops, our voices, samples, small synthesizers, ultra-portable instruments, and more to produce audio and beats, and learn how to use these tools to keep our creativity flowing, even when we’re on the go.

Music making session led by Jason Evans Groth, Digital Media Librarian, NCSU Libraries

Performance-based Voice Activity Description:

Our voices are one of the most powerful tools we have, enabling us to communicate emotions and thoughts. Through a series of fun games, vocal exercises, and theatre activities, we’ll use our voices to learn more about expressing ourselves and connecting with one another.

Performance-based voice session led by Mia Self, assistant director of acting and directing, University Theatre
