Eclipse Live Stream

Come join the NCSU Libraries and the College of Sciences to celebrate the solar eclipse! Here in Raleigh we'll be able to see about 92% coverage of the sun, starting at 1:16 pm, peaking at 2:44 pm, and ending by 4:06 pm.  This will be the first time there's been a solar eclipse across the United States since 1918!

On The Brickyard

The College of Sciences will start their Eclipse Day Celebration at 12:30 on the brickyard outside the D. H. Hill Jr. Library.  There will be tables and activities, including eclipse glasses and pinhole projectors for safe sun viewing, as well as citizen science projects.

Eclipse Live Stream

An eclipse livestream, featuring NASA experts along the path of totality, live feeds from NASA aircraft, balloons, and the International Space Station, and views of the eclipse from around the United States, will be playing in the DH Hill Library, the James B Hunt Jr Libraries, and the Veterinary Medicine Library. No special glasses are needed for viewing the eclipse live stream.

Note About Eclipse Glasses:

The library will be participating in eclipse day activities but does not have eclipse glasses. If you have questions about the celebration, including information about safe eclipse viewing at the university, visit the College of Sciences' Eclipse Day Celebration page. No special glasses are needed for viewing the eclipse on the Libraries' indoor video screens.
