To help celebrate Wake County's The Big Read program of The Maltese Falcon, Dr. Deb Hooker, director, women's and gender studies, and Dr. Mary Wyer, associate professor of psychology at NC State, will lead a discussion of this book in the "noir" tradition, but with a modern twist. Sara Peretsky's hardboiled private eye V.I. Warshawski doesn't let anyone stand in her way of getting to the truth.
