MALS candidate Carl Wilkins presents a pop-up exhibition of letters from the Mark E. Mitchell Collection of African American History. Bringing the African American experience to life, the renowned collection comprises over 4,000 original historic manuscripts, documents, newspapers, books, photographs and artifacts, dating from the early 1600s through the present. Wilkins has curated a selection of letters to display, including Malcolm X writing to Alex Haley and George Washington Carver writing to Henry Ford. Visitors can see these letters in person, and hear Wilkins talk about the collection and his curation process at 5:00 p.m.
