About This Event

Today's digital 3D modeling technology delivers incredibly effective and user-friendly systems, targeting many industries from science and engineering to entertainment and design. The range of tools and techniques can seem overwhelming and the first steps are very challenging when it comes to deciding what application, method and tool should be learned. The good understanding of the desired outcome's technical parameters is critical in choosing the correct path. These include the extent of editing needs, metric precision, deformation needs, real-time performance and many others. This presentation by Emil Polyak, Assistant Professor of Art + Design in NC State's College of Design, is about modeling techniques, tools, and tips for those who are interested in learning more about the process.
