Curriculum Subject Group

Description

The Curriculum Subject Group widget returns the parent subject ID for the curriculum code passed to the widget. This widget is used by the Article Search widget to guess which subject group a curriculum code belongs to, based on a curriculum code to subject mapping created by subject specialists.

Base Request

http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/widget/curric_subject_group

The base request cannot return a subject ID. The default message is:

Unknown Curriculum code

Parameter	Accepted values
ncsu_curriculum_code	Standard 1 to 3 letter course prefix

If a valid curriculum code is supplied, the widget returns the course ID assocated with the supplied curriculum code. If the supplied curriculum code is invalid or not recognized, the widget displays a message, which is the same as the base request.
