North Carolina Architects and Builders: A Biographical Dictionary

Overview

Originally conceived as a print publication, the North Carolina Architects and Builders: A Biographical Dictionary project is the first product of the Office of Digital Publishing. DLI developed the interface, search system, and back end data processing infrastructure.

Team

Technical Details

The project features a faceted search interface powered by solr, an open source search tool. Solr is used to index and search XML documents that contain the project data. The project uses XSLT to render many of its project pages. jQuery and YUI help to provide a contemporary user experience.
