MobiLIB will allow users access to predominantly library-oriented services through cell phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and other mobile, web-enabled devices. Given the increas ing availability of such devices and their growing usage among the libraries' user population, this service will make a selection of services available that are assumed to be most useful to the users of mobile devices. MobiLIB will both link to already e xisting information providers (such as an external site indicating the current location of the university's WolfLine buses) and create greatly simplified interfaces to services such as the libraries' online catalog, staff directory, opening hours listings or the computer availability map. Based on user reactions and feedback, other services can be added in the future.
