ETDs in DSpace

Overview

As part of the NCSU Libraries Digital Repository, public access to Electronic Theses and Dissertations is being migrated to a customized installation of DSpace. This project falls under the direction of the NCSU Libraries Digital Repository Management Committee.

Team

  • Jim Tuttle, Digital Library Initiatives.
  • Rusty Earl, Digital Library Initiatives.
  • Eric Pauley, Digital Library Initiatives.
  • Darren White, NCSU Graduate School.
  • Erica Braman, NCSU Graduate School.

Technical Details

The current ETD system is run off of the ETD-db software from Virginia Tech. As this project progresses, we will be migrating first the public access component into DSpace. During this first phase of the project students will continue to submit content through the existing system, and we will be harvesting ETDs as they go live and importing them into DSpace. As a second phase of the project we will be developing a customized workflow that will allow students to submit ETDs directly into DSpace.
