Under the heading Waste, links to the North Carolina state agency's many reports about solid and other waste. Reports are presented in a variety of formats (PDF, RTF, DOC, etc.) and, unfortunately, not all links are active. Data should be available from the agency, however, even if it is not on the web site.
Access to multiple (federal) EPA databases; not limited to solid waste, this site offers resources for household, government and commercial/industrial waste, as well as recycling.
List compiled by federal depository librarians and GPO of government resources related to the topic, including the Toxic Release Inventory, Superfund and many more.
A service of Environmental Defense (www.environmentaldefense.org), Hog Watch focuses on the environmental threats posed by North Carolina's hog farm industry. The site offers extensive waste statistics and maps of hog farm locations. Includes factsheets, press releases and news articles about hog farming.
Primarily oriented toward hazardous waste. From the web site: "...free access to numerous databases and resources on the environment. With the information available on RTK NET, you can identify specific factories and their environmental effects; find permits issued under environmental statutes; and identify civil cases filed."
