BUS 305: Legal and Regulatory Environment
Case Law
There are two separate court systems in the United States, one the Judicial
Branch of the Federal government, the other composed of the Judicial branches
within each state government. The U.S. Supreme Court may be called upon to
review decisions of a state's supreme court.
Matters not specifically reserved for the Federal court system by the
Constitution are within the jurisdiction of the states' court systems. Cases
adjudicated by the states' judiciaries include law enforcement, business
conduct, and human relationships.
