Centennial Campus Services : Using the Services
Offsite Access to Online Databases and Electronic Resources
Many of the resources that the NCSU Libraries purchases for the NC State community
are increasingly available in electronic format and accessible through a personal computer.
Accessing these resources is done through the Libraries' website. It is important to
arrive at the resources you wish to use by first going NCSU
Libraries' website because many of the resources are not freely available to the
public. These electronic library resources are governed by licenses and subscriptions that
are managed and paid for by the NCSU Libraries.
By first going to our website you will ensure that you arrive at the online database or
electronic resource as an authenticated user with permission to access its content. Most
resources permit or deny access to their content based on the location of the computer requesting
access to an article or set of data. Almost all resources are accessible to computers housed
on the NC State campus. Through the use of the campus login system, you can also access these
resources from computers off campus. However, to be prompted for the appropriate login you
must access the electronic resource from the Libraries' website.
