Video Editing Workstation

Video editing workstations in the Digital Media Lab provide the software and hardware for professional filmmaking. Five Mac Pro workstations (reservable online) offer the following:

Hardware

  • Apple Mac Pro with 27" HD display
  • Pioneer DVD-RW drive
  • Mini-DV Deck (HD and SD capable)
  • Firewire and USB ports
  • Super VHS VCR
  • VHS to DVD recorder

Software

  • Final Cut Studio (Final Cut Pro X, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 3, Color 1.5, Compressor 3.5, DVD Studio Pro 4)
  • iMovie '11
  • iLife '11 (iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand, iWeb)
  • Adobe CS 5.1 suite (including After Effects, Flash, Photoshop, Soundbooth, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Illustrator, InDesign and more)
  • Assorted other tools including Camtasia, Handbrake, Toast Titanium 10

A green screen and softbox lighting kit are available in the Digital Media Lab studio.
