Unicorn junk tags listing for NCSU Libraries
The following is a listing of MARC fields, which shows those which will be kept as well as those to remove from bibliographic and authority records upon load from an outside source, such as a bibliographic utility (e.g. OCLC), Z39.50 target catalog, or batch file. Those marked X in the "junk" column should be excluded from entry to the database by Unicorn itself (Unicorn junk tags); those marked X in the "delete" column will not be excluded from entry, but may be deleted if found in the NCSU Libraries' catalog. Fields which are followed by an asterisk are not considered valid under MARC21. They may be obsolete USMARC fields, utility-specific fields from OCLC or RLIN, or fields used by various libraries for handling local practices, such as order data, local notes, provenance information, etc.
