To enter diacritics into WorkFlows, one enters codes from the table above, followed by the character being modified by the code. To enter the code, hold down the Ctrl key and enter the number from the "Ctrl +" column. Let go of the Ctrl key and enter the character from the "Key" column, followed by the character which the diacritic modifies. This can be done quickly, but ensure that you have Ctrl depressed when typing the number and NOT when you are entering the letter or character. Note that subscripts and superscripts do not work, but rather generate a question mark. To the author's best knowledge, these have not worked for over 9 years.

If WorkFlows is not displaying diacritics on your machine at all, you need to enable the WSGUI fonts supplied by Sirsi. You will need to restart WorkFlows before this will work, but before you exit go to Preference at the top left of the client screen and choose Configuration. Under Station at the bottom of the resulting window, make sure that the Edit radio button is selected, along with the name PCGUI-EDIT. Be sure to save these changes to your PC workstation as you close WorkFlows. Then pull up Windows Explorer or My Computer. Go to the c:\WINNT\fonts folder and click on WSGUI Display (winddisp.fon). Click on the "Done" box at the upper left. Repeat this for WSGUI Edit (winedit.fon). Restart the WorkFlow client and you will have diacritics. If your diacritics are not displaying in the OPAC, check with the Computing Consultant concerning the fonts within your browser.
