We'll make special efforts to keep faculty well informed in advance of any changes in where to find the books and other materials that you and your students need.

To minimize inconvenience during the regular semesters, most of the Engineering collection is planned to be moved to the Hunt Library during the summer, starting the week of July 16, 2012.

The most recent Engineering books—printed between 2006 and 2012—will remain at D.H. Hill until late December 2012, when they will move to Hunt.

Are you working on a time-sensitive project during the period of the move?

If you are working on a special project that you think might be affected by the move, please contact Annette Day, Head of Collection Management (919-513-2129 or annette_day@ncsu.edu), and she will work with you to make sure that you have what you need.

What new faculty services will be available after the move?

  • Scanning and delivery services currently available from the Satellite Shelving Facility will now be available from the Hunt Library.
  • The Virtual Browse system will offer an online bookshelf of all items that would normally be shelved together, including e-books and books that are checked out or temporarily taken off the shelf.
