The Omnivore’s Dilemma
Book: The Omnivore’s Dilemma, a Natural History of Four Meals
Author: Michael Pollan
Reviewer: Kyle O’Donnell, junior, College of Textiles, NC State
“We are what we eat,” goes the old wives’ tale. Yet, so few of us know where our food comes from, how it affects our natural resources and body. Pullen’s work challenged my conceptions of economics, politics, nutrition and the pleasure of eating.

This was also a favorite read for me this year. I accidentally picked up the Young Adult version, but it was still a good read – not juvenile. I learned a lot too, and really began to examine what I eat. Hugely important read for everyone, as we all need food to sustain life.
